This is really ironic, I've been waiting for a long time to have the right to vote in Debian. Now I have it, but I'm not sure if I want to exercise it.

I don't think I need to explain much, many already did that before on planet. It basically boils down to:

• A GR that's an irrelevant overreaction; and whatever gets out of it wouldn't change much: for the paranoids, if Jörg really wanted to push his idea after a GR opposing it, he only needs to tweak it a little to be different from "the changes described on the debian-devel-announce mailing list" [ref] and get on with it. If the intention was to send a message, that doesn't need a GR.
• Another GR which is: a perversion of our voting system, disconnected with reality, and a trap. Heck, if I wasn't reading the fine print I would say that any DD that doesn't vote for "Reaffirm the Social Contract" [ref] should be expulsed expelled right away, as we all agreed to "uphold the Social Contract and the DFSG in your Debian work" [NM], right? But it turns out that you're actually voting to postpone Lenny until hell freezes over, or so.
  I also think that the Secretary is abusing his position to push his agenda here.
• We are being pathetic, should people still trust our judgement to build the "best operating system"?

So, I second Noodles' proposal, to make this sillyness go away for good. Meanwhile, I have to decide if voting 2..21 or not voting at all.
